Kunal Dutta graduated from Sussex University in 2000 with a BA in Philosophy and English and joined Partners BDDH, a London-based advertising agency as a graduate trainee and account manager. Later he would discover that he was far better at writing about advertising than working in it.In 2003 he won a place on the Mountbatten Internship Programme and moved to New York where he wrote about US politics, culture and current affairs. As well as writing for The Guardian, The Economist and The Metro he tinkered with (now archaic) blogging technology to maintain English Eye in NY, a blog about life in New York.
Returning to London in 2004, Kunal found his way to Haymarket eventually reporting for Campaign, the magazine for the advertising industry. There he settled some old scores before taking the plunge as a freelance journalist in 2008. His interest areas include culture and current affairs, media and business travel.
